YABU: The House of Katsu
Heaven has just opened itself for Katsu lovers at the SM Megamall Atrium! And because, I have this extreme love for Japanese food I find myself heading towards this new Japanese specialty restaurant that has been creating a big buzz for months now. Say hello to my new found heaven, Yabu: The House of Katsu. I drowned looking at their menu because it was so hard to choose on what to get, and because their SET MEAL (comes with Miso Soup, Fruits and Unlimited Cabbage, how great is that!) looks so satisfying I finally ended up choosing the Chicken Katsu Set. I seriously wanted to get the mixed seafood set because I have observed that most of the other tables ordered that (hahaha. sorry for observing too much) but knowing that I’m allergic to seafood and they really have huge servings, I could die eating just halfway through it. Well Ralf got the Rosu Katsu Set (I wasn’t able to take a photo of that since we were both hungry when the food came, hence the very bad photos of my food). While waiting we were given sesame seeds on a bowl, they say that you have to perform the rituals for the Katsu sauce to be amazing, GRIND, POUR, MIX and DIP (I can still imagine the aroma of the ground sesame seeds). My eyes opened when I saw my food, and I must say it was the best Katsu I have tried so far. There is this certain crunch when you bite it and then you’ll feel the tenderness of the meat! It is fantastic! Definitely a love at first try (hahaha)!
I am definitely coming back to try the other set meals. Good food, great service at a very reasonable price! Have your own Yabu experience! :)
